November 30th, 2025
Practice hope in the darkness today.
Practice hope in the darkness today.
Seeking a Scripture---to keep our hearts pointed toward the light.
Praying a promise---professing your trust in His goodness and grace.
Repenting---realigning our hope away from lesser things and to eternal things.
Serving---awaking hope in our own lives by bringing light into the life of someone else.
Giving---moving our eyes from ourselves to Godâs blessing and abundance.
Sharing---speaking out how God is working in your darkness to give others hope in theirs.
Praising---Joining voices with others to tell darkness it doesnât have the final word.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. Advent begins with honesty about darkness. Where do you feel the âpredawnâ shadows in your life right now?
2. The Israelites in Isaiah 9 were victims of darknessâand contributors to it. Where do you notice both of those realities in your own story? What does repentance (a Rooted rhythm) look like in the areas where youâve added to the darkness?
3. The devotional shares the story of a grieving father who learned to âborrow light from the past.â What past mercies or moments with God can you identify now as sources of light to help you today?
4. Hope in Scripture is not passive; it is practiced. On the front of this sheet are some ârhythmsâ to practice. Which oneâs do you think might help you practice hope this advent? Why?
5. âWe donât find the light. The light finds us.â Where have you experienced God coming toward you in a dark season, rather than waiting for you to get yourself together?
